I was invited by Adobe to take part in the French Café Campaign, alongside four other talented illustrators. The idea behind the campaign was to highlight creative workflows using Adobe Photoshop, through playful and personal interpretations of the French café spirit.
Each artist was asked to create an illustration that captured their unique vision of café culture. For my part, I drew inspiration from the sketches I make while daydreaming in cafés, filling my sketchbooks with spontaneous doodles. I imagined cute little creatures emerging from these drawings, quietly bringing the café to life—like a secret world unfolding between cups of coffee and wandering thoughts.
Along with the campaign, Adobe filmed a short artist portrait of me—both in my studio and in one of my favorite cafés, where I often go to sketch and find inspiration.
Here are some visual development and illustration pieces from the campaign.
The animations of the band, the algae, and the jellyfish were brought to life by Max Von Bock.
I had the pleasure of animating, frame by frame, the two cute clouds floating out of the glasses, as well as the steam rising from the coffee cup.
All animations were done directly in Photoshop, which is always a fun and intuitive way for me to bring short sequences to life.
